Horror can be interpreted in a variety of ways, but it frequently has a main antagonist, monster (typically of a supernatural kind), or threat that reflects the anxieties that society is experiencing at the moment.

1. Kwaidan (1964)

There are four unique, independent tales in this movie. "Black Hair": An impoverished samurai who marries for money after divorcing his true love, only to return to his first wife and uncover something sinister about her. In the story "The Woman in the Snow," a woodcutter becomes stranded in a snowstorm and encounters an ice ghost in the guise of a woman who spares his life on the condition that he keep her a secret. Ten years later, he fails to keep his word. Hoichi, a blind musician who resides in a monastery, sings so beautifully that a ghostly royal court requests him to sing the epic song of their final confrontation for them in "Hoichi the Earless."But the ghosts are draining away his life, and the monks set out to protect him by writing a holy mantra over his body to make him invisible to the ghosts. But they've forgotten something. In the short tale "In a Cup of Tea," a guy keeps spotting an enigmatic face reflected in his cup of tea.
2. Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

In a luxurious yet gothic skyscraper in Manhattan, Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse move into an apartment. Edward "Hutch" Hutchins, their landlord, tries to talk them out of it by telling them that the building has a sketchy past. Guy begins spending a lot of time with Roman and Minnie Castevet, their kind senior neighbors, once they learn that they are there. A young lady Rosemary encounters in the laundry room appears to commit herself shortly after, Rosemary starts to have unusual nightmares and noises, and Guy starts to act distant and distant. When Rosemary learns she is pregnant, she starts to worry that her neighbors have something special in mind for the baby.
3. The Shining (1980)

So the story of this film revolves around a man named Jack Torrance, he is a writer and a former teacher. In the winter, he accepts a job as a caretaker at the Overlook Hotel with his family. It includes him, his kid (Danny), and his wife (Wendy). He accepted this offer to enjoy writing in the large hotel. Someone tells him that a man had killed his family and himself in that hotel in the past. But, Jack stated that his wife would not mind. Then, back at home, Danny has an incident in which he injures himself. while talking to his imaginary friend 'tony.' This is where Wendy reveals to the nurse that there was an incident where Jack hurt Danny’s arm while he was drunk. And she tells Jack had drinking problems in the past but he quit drinking ever since this incident. So far I can only tell you this about the film. It is best to watch this movie yourself to find out more.
4. Possession (1981)

Unknown reasons led a young woman to leave her family behind. The husband resolves to learn the truth and begins to pursue his wife. He initially thinks a male is involved. But over time, he learns of an increasing number of odd actions and peculiar occurrences that point to something else than a possessed love affair.
5. Psycho (1960)

Phoenix secretary Marion Crane, who stole $40,000 from her work to flee with her boyfriend Sam Loomis, collapses from weariness in the middle of a torrential downpour. She stops for the night in the run-down Bates Motel after taking the back roads to evade the police, where she meets the amiable but tense owner Norman Bates, a young man with a fascination with taxidermy and a tense relationship with his mother.
